Defend It, tampa

What a night!

The Tampa Bay Lightning unveiled their Stanley Cup Banner in front of an energetic 22,000+ fans at the St. Pete Times Forum last night and the home town boys did not disappoint. The Bolts easily handled their division rival, Carolina Hurricanes, 5-2 as the "new" NHL made its debut.

In the first photo we have a sea of blue flashing lights as every fan was given a cool light-up necklace among other goodies. The second photo features the members of last years' Cup winning team pulling the cover off to reveal one of the coolest looking Stanley Cup Banners I have ever seen... it had an image of the Stanley Cup which was cut out along its edge to give a cool look to the usual rectangle banner. Finally, action gets underway as the Banner floats above the Forum, lit in a soft blue glow.
