   Friday, July 15, 2005 Don't Drink the Water, tampa We went to the Dave Matthews Band show last night at the Ford Amphitheatre. Let me just say that the show was phenomenal... By far, the best DMB concert we have seen, performance-wise. The venue however, sucked ass! The Ford Amphitheatre is this beautiful concert structure built upon the shitty, poorly planned, Florida-cracker State Fairgrounds. The parking lot is a half hour walk from the amphitheatre's entrance. And because it is Florida in July it rained all night long. The walk to the entrance was a flooded muddy bog. Had it been a Toby Keith concert, the 'necks would have been in hog heaven. Exiting the parking lot at the end of the evening was pure chaos. It took us at least an hour to get out of the lot an onto the Interstate. I will definitely have to reconsider attending future concerts at the Ford Amphitheatre. Maybe the next time we will arrive in style and comfort in a limo... sounds like a good idea to me. |
